I am an athlete. I spend most of my time outdoors in the water or on land. My passions include surfing, tennis, golf, gardening, ceramics, and playing with my dogs. I have a twin brother who shares the same interests as I. I was born and raised in Santa Cruz. I attended Gault Elementary School, Branciforte Middle School, and Santa Cruz High. My favorite experience from high school was learning a new art form. Pottery class was my main inspiration for waking up in the morning and going to high school. There was something exciting to look forward to every day. A pot coming out of a kiln or a pot needing decorating. Each day was something different. My ceramics teacher was my favorite teacher because he cared so much about ceramics which made the classes so upbeat and interesting. After five semesters of ceramics, I left Santa Cruz High with a life long skill. I feel that there is a lot to learn from the people around us. I think I know some people better than I know myself. I have good interpersonal skills which helps my relationships with the people I know and meet.
What do I have to offer this English class? A pair of ears and a couple good ideas. I still have a lot to learn about writing. I am dedicated to improving my writing skills and building my vocabulary. I am good at listening to instructions and carrying out tasks. I give good feedback to students who want help. I have bad short term memory which I think hinders my train of thought when I am thinking. People tell me that I talk fast in which I tell them I do this because I don't want to loose the next word that comes to mind. I am very easy to get along with and I am always wanting to meet new, cool people. I am a hard worker and am swift in completing my tasks. Time is very valuable so I try to keep the amount of time wasted not focusing to a minimum. My best attributes I will bring to this class will be my focus and attention. I'll take this class serious because school is work and work I take seriously. I am helpful and cooperative which will make my presence in this class delightful.
I love the fact that you started out your posting with "I am an athlete”. That just shows you have dedication and the ability to always try your best and continue to improve. You have so many interesting and fun passions! I never would have guessed a guy would like gardening or ceramics, but I admire that you can list the things you love that wouldn't be classified as "manly". I like how you talk about pottery with such a passion and love as well as the reward. What kind of dogs do you have? I have three! I think it's really responsible you are dedicated to improve various English skills. I might take you up on "giving other students good feedback", I also need some improvement. It's great that you’re willing to help others and you have good time management skills! Keep it up!!
